As an internet based company serving the needs of Hispanic professionals we are always looking for ways to create opportunities for our members. I have stumbled across the idea of hosting an Online Job Fair but to be honest with you I am on the fence.
My Hispanic Network www.gomhn.com pushes the need for internet resources to bring our community to the next level so it seems like it would be an organic fit for us to host such an event. I certainly think we have the right ingredients, companies looking to hire and professionals looking for bigger and better opportunities.
The challenge is engaging the two sides in a manner that provides a more advanced presentation than a simple read through of resumes. Right now I am looking for ideas on how to make this work.

An online job fair avoids for those seeking a job the nervousness of presenting to employers their best in a face to face event, however an online job fair defeats the purpose of meeting with employers and job seekers and exchange resumes and business cards. I think for an online job fair to really work their needs to be testing out ideas and see what will work and what won't.

I think that online job fair would be a success but the infrastructure, the process and the participants should be very well organized. The net help us a lot to send, review and receive propossals andvacancies. I believe that can be very succesful but I insist with the good organization.

Online job fair during these times could be very beneficial. This would save me time and travel and still allow me to review/contact qualified candidates that pass the initial resume culling process. The downside as I see it would be managing the site/fair.
